Does Verizon Wireless Still Do Contracts

The mobile industry has been making steady progress toward this goal since T-Mobile made its sensational announcement two years ago to abolish phone subsidies and service contracts. Verizon had previously offered a monthly payment program called Edge. You take the total cost of the smartphone and divide it by 24 to get your cost each month (tax-free). Keep in mind that an unsubsidized smartphone is expensive – a base iPhone 6 model costs $650, or about $27 per month. At this point, monthly payout plans are pretty standard in the industry — even mobile giant AT&T has increasingly transferred them to customers.
